This route was created by cycling club Allez Vitesse and starts and ends at their homebase, Provinciestraat 82, 2018 Antwerpen at the so called 'Giraffe square' on the backside of the Antwerp Zoo.
First it follows the road along the cyclo-strade towards Kalmthout. Then it crosses the beautiful wide landscapes of the Noorderkempen, known for its long straight lanes.
For a while the route follows the very easygoing canal 'Kempische Vaart' between Brecht an Rijkevorsel.
Via nice and calm villages Vlimmeren and Wechelderzande in the wooded area of the Kempen near Zoersel, you will reach Oelegem were it joins the Albert Canal. If the wind is in your back, you are launched for a speedy straight line to Antwerp with a nice opportunity to organze a sprint in Wijnegem.
An ideal route for those who like both hard riding and heart riding ;-)
